EN40B is a chromium-molybdenum nitriding steel characterised by its suitability for nitriding which promotes high wear resistance.
The material is supplied in the hardened and tempered ‘T’ condition, EN40B offers good toughness, excellent shock resistance and good ductility. It is classed as a nitriding steel, this process produces a scale free surface with minimal distortion.
EN40B | 722M24 Sub Zero grade is good when fabricating containers where boats go into sub zero temperatures. The steel can withstand the cold without deterioration. Its impact resistance can work in many situations including constant impact as a moving part but has great resistance and the material has high durability.
EN40B Engineering Steel also offers high wear resistance.
