3MM EN3B/080A15 Bright Round Steel Bar

EN3A and EN3B are general engineering steels, suitable in applications where heavy stresses and heat treatment are not involved, such as welded and riveted structures, forgings, machined parts and hot pressing. High Peak Steels stock this in a range of sizes and shapes.

EN3B is a bright drawn, or turned, mild steel with good machinability. Ideal for use in a variety of general engineering applications. EN3A is Supplied in the Black condition normally as 070M20. High Peak Steels stock offer EN3A | 070M20 in round bar.

EN3A and EN3B steel will withstand a moderate amount of cold deformation and only offers low strength but good machinability. The material has good weldability characteristics however it has poor hardenability. EN3B is a general-purpose mild steel, readily weldable and suitable for case hardening. Flat sections are of particular suited to tool makers.

For wider applications where case hardening is critical engineers can choose, EN3B with a refined analysis that conforms to EN32 (080A15) that has a .13 -.18 carbon content
